TaxMate required a complex web based calculation application with an ecommerce element developed in a short time scale. The application allows for users to check their PAYE Tax calculation for the previous four years and where there is a under/over payment automatically fill a Form 12 claim form for forwarding to the Irish Revenue Commissioners.

The system was developed using HTML presentation layer, java business layer with a MYSql backend for storage of lookup data for the different years. The system interfaces with an epayment package allowing the user to purchase credit on the system.

We put in place a team consisting of one project manager, one system architect and two experienced java developers with two system testers provided by Taxmate. As well as the requirements as specified, there is also an ongoing requirement to allow for the introduction of each year's new calculations in an efficient cost effective manner.
